Question of the day – How much water to you need to grow?

It might surprise you – but like plants need water to grow so do humans.

Did you know that the body is made up of 60 % water?

Water is importance for three reasons:

1 – To help the building blocks or cells of the body to function.

2 – To help the kidneys get rid of waste from the body.

3- To control the temperature of the body.

To feel well as a teenager as you grow, it is really important to maintain your body’s water supply.

The best way to do this is to drink more water!

A growing teenager needs roughly 2.5 – 3 litres of water a day. A good way to figure this out is  is to try to keep a track of how much fluid you are drinking over a 2-3 day period. Some people like to do this by working out what size their water bottle is and then seeing how many times they need to fill it up during the day.

Tip of the day – if your water bottle is 750mls you need to drink 4 of these a day.
